A BIT ABOUT ME...
When photographing children my key aim is to produce images which capture character. Rather than getting children to sit and smile for the camera, I prefer to photograph them in familiar surroundings whilst at play or doing something they really enjoy. My approach is very natural and I strive to capture true, honest photos where white backgrounds are not a necessity! “The best photos are the ones where the child is unaware of the camera as they are so involved in what they are doing”.
Using skills from my Fine Art degree I generate photos where composition, lighting and colour have all been carefully considered. Mother of 2, and auntie to 12 more, I am used to interacting with children of different ages and work hard to keep things relaxed, to get the best out of the photo session.
Heather has a knack for capturing the natural personality of my children rather than a posed shot.
